The thing I love about creating Life’s A Holladay healthy living with style podcast is how much I learn, sometimes obvious, but mainly not so much. So each week, I’m going to share what epiphany I had whilst recording our latest episode.

Apres hand therapy at Jo Malone London — so happy dancing at the spa!

Our latest episode, part of the Festive UK Spa Holiday series designed to relax you this crazy festive holiday (and stress inducing) season, centered around how to use retail spa services to take a break during the grueling holiday gift shopping process.

It was inspired by a chance visit into a London perfumery (Jo Malone London) where I had a fragrant aromatherapy hand spa treatment — at their fragrance bar — so needed after handling all those potential gifts.

In the episode, Steven applied fragrance to my arms and hands at the end of the treatment. He explained that “you should never rub the fragrance as it mutilates the composition of the perfume, instead warm it — gently to bring the bottom notes (the best end smell of the perfume) topside”.

As I edited the episode, it struck me that this also applies to many things in life, especially meeting new people and building relationships. You never want to “rub someone the wrong way” and ruffle their feathers. . . instead the more diplomatic approach is to allow them to “warm up to you” to bring out their best! Applies to people and pets!

So next time you apply your perfume, warm it and pat it on yourself — then spread that warm vibe to everyone you meet! Til next week,

Candy
